Meet the Team
Founder and Director
Lindsay Holmes
Lindsay was passionate about safety throughout her childhood in Ottawa. After receiving her formal education and first aid instructor training, Lindsay traveled to British Columbia, where she worked as a safety officer in remote logging camps.
Lindsay turned her first-hand knowledge of workplace safety into an innovative educational approach, and created Holmes Safety Training as its vehicle. She has now successfully taught over 5000 students over 10 years as Holmes Medical Training’s Lead First Aid Instructor. Lindsay is known for her cheerful and energetic leadership style and has a dedicated team of safety professionals working with her to provide quality training you can trust.

Lorne Cooper
Lorne was born and raised in Dartmouth Nova Scotia where he attended St Mary’s University before he joined the Canadian Army where he served for over 35 years in a variety of operational theatres throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Currently Lorne follows his passion of scuba diving as a Master Scuba Diver Trainer with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). After seeing a need for dive specific first aid instruction Lorne became an instructor with the Divers Alert Network, the leading global agency for dive medicine research and advice to medical practitioners anywhere in the world. Lorne brings knowledge of first aid and a passion for safety to Holmes Safety Training

Anne-Marie Dugal
Born and raised in Quebec, Anne-Marie has been calling Ottawa “home” since 1983. Recently retired from being a high school science teacher (35 years), she has always known that safety must be a priority.
After a lifetime spent around youth and young adults in schools, labs, sports and summer camps, Anne-Marie understands the importance of first aid skills in a variety of settings. Joining our organization allows her to combine her passion for teaching with the conviction that first aid training goes a long way to make our society a better and safer place for all.

Joshua Soba
Joshua is a committed and dedicated professional and Medical Doctor with a proven ability to teach, motivate and direct participants to their best performance by encouraging a positive and energetic environment. Joshua is passionate about teaching and making positive impacts by teaching people to save lives. Joshua loves teaching and always creates an ambiance of learning by demonstrating practical skills and in-depth knowledge. His seven years of experience teaching first aid and his Medical school background makes Joshua a truly valued member of the Holmes Safety Training team.

Michael Holmes
Michael is the newest member at Holmes Safety Training, making sure the needs of both employees and clients come first. Michael has many years of firsthand experience in the construction safety field. He trained and worked for many years in the forestry industry, finishing as the supervisor for remote camp operations, returning to Ottawa to continue in the construction industry and safety programs development.
His experiences in operations management, emergency medical care, and workplace safety have made him the perfect fit for his newest role. Clients can feel confident when dealing with Michael that he will be both professional and accommodating of their needs.

Anas Roustom
Dr. Roustom grew up in Montreal, where he decided that his vocation was to help save lives. He received his degree as a physician in 2012, and enhanced his education with several postgraduate certifications in medical communications. Anas is passionate about sharing knowledge and experience of medical emergencies through first aid courses and helping others save lives.
In the classroom, Anas explains emergency medical conditions in a simple and easy-to-understand manner. He has gained a wealth of first-hand knowledge from his years working as a 911 dispatch operator, instructing and coaching people over the phone as they dealt with emergency situations.

Traci Jorgenson
Traci is a dedicated Working at Heights safety trainer with decades of combined management and training experience . She combines expertise in height safety regulations with a passion for educating others on safety standards and compliance, recognizing and mitigating hazards, and developing equipment proficiency. Traci is known for her dynamic teaching style and ability to engage participants and is committed to equipping students with the knowledge and skills to work safely and confidently at heights.
