How many levels of first aid training are there?
In Ontario, there are two levels of first aid training. Different courses are designed for different industries. When deciding what first aid course to choose, it is important you base your decision on your industry or school program needs.
Emergency First Aid CPR Level C with AED training
Recommended for low-hazard environments with 5 or less people per shift.
The certificate is valid for 3 years
Can be completed in a blended and non-blended format
Non-blended: 8 hours in person
Blended: 3 hours online and 4 hours in person
Industries that commonly take this course are security guards, truck drivers, etc.
Our Emergency First Aid course will teach you how to give CPR and apply an AED, treat deadly bleeding, and help someone who is choking, having a stroke, heart attack, opioid overdose, medical conditions, and more.
Standard First Aid CPR Level C with AED training
Recommended for high-hazard environments with 6 or more people per shift.
The certificate is valid for 3 years
Can be completed in a blended and non blended format
Non-blended: 16 hours in person
Blended: 6 hours online and 8 hours in person
Industries that commonly take this course are construction, daycare workers, etc.
Our Standard course is a higher level of training and will teach you everything that is covered in an emergency first aid course and more. Some of the additional topics covered in our standard course are bone and joint injuries, poisons, environmental injuries, eye injuries, chest injuries and more.
